Born at Midnight (Shadow Falls) by C.C. Hunter

Born at Midnight (Shadow Falls, #1)Summary: One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—"a camp for troubled teens", and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.” Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.

Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.

Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs…

Review: Danger lurks, the teens have comedic voices, and mysteries that need to be discovered...What could be better? It's a spectacular series that gets better as you go. That is NOT something that usually happens. It is one of the best series I've read in a long time. Shadow Falls will haunt you and encourage you to show the world your talents and abilities. But above all, it will steal your heart.

Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone

Summary: Anna and Bennett were never supposed to meet: she lives in 1995 Chicago and he lives in 2012 San Francisco. But Bennett’s unique ability to travel through time and space brings him into Anna’s life, and with him, a new world of adventure and possibility. As their relationship deepens, they face the reality that time might knock Bennett back where he belongs, even as a devastating crisis throws everything they believe into question. Against a ticking clock, Anna and Bennett are forced to ask themselves how far they can push the bounds of fate—and what consequences they can bear in order to stay together.

Review: This books plot pulled me in right away. It's a daring book that went way above my standards I set for it. I have never read a time travel book like this that dragged me away from our time and space. Love is just one of the words I'd use to describe it.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)4.41 avg out of 5 stars rating on www.goodreads.com
Fifteen-year-old Clary Fray never expected to witness a murder in her lifetime - much less a murder committed by three odd teenagers inked with black markings. After the body vanishes in thin air, Clary knows she's different. Her best friend Simon can't see the rogue teenagers - particularly the gorgeous golden-haired boy.

Taking place in modern New York, this amazing book will keep you on the edge of your seat!

All These Things I've Done by Gabrielle Zevin

It's 2083. Water is rationed carefully. Paper is difficult to find. Coffee and chocolate are banned. New York has erupted with poverty and crime.

And yet . . .

Life for Anya Balanchine is normal. Well, it's about as normal as it gets for the daughter of the city's most notorious criminal. Her life consists of normal things like going to school, and taking care of her dying grandmother. It also consists of running from the many enemies her father has made.

This novel was a very quick read for me. It was mostly realistic fiction, and a little bit of romance. All in all, is is a great heartfelt book.

Her life is based on notes telling her the stories of days past. She can only remember the future and after it passes it will become a blank spot in her mind. Until she meets a new guy at school and mysteries and lies unravel. A fast and easy read which will take you to a new day, instead of knowing her past, you'll know her's and others future. But can everything equal up if you just know your future? A mystery with a secret too great to hold, but having to learn the same fact each and every day can be depressing. Can your mind take it?

Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin

If Naomi wasn't stubborn, she would have picked tails. But, she didn't she picked heads.

She wouldn't have had to run back into school to go pick up the camera for yearbook. She wouldn't have hit her head on the steps on the way out of school.

Naomi wouldn't have awaken in a ambulance with amnesia.

She would have remembered her best friend, Will. She would remember why he keeps calling her "Chief." She would remember all their inside jokes.

She would have known about her mother's affair.

She would have known about her father's fiancé.

But Naomi picked heads. She is frustrated with her life. With herself. She keeps finding things, like food diaries, and wondering who the heck would have one of those? Certainly not her. But it was hers. Who did she used to be?

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

The Fault in Our Stars
Hazel, a 16 year old girl is 2 years in remission, but is still fighting and holding off her Stage IV thyroid cancer. Her mom wanting her to be a teenager, pushes her to go to a social group full of children who have or is healing from a life threatening disease. This is where she meets Augustus Waters, the boy who will do anything for her. He's gorgeous, and in remission. A wonderful, and heartbreaking book full of love, pain, and sadness. This is more than a good book, it's a book that will touch your heart and make you look differently at life. Cancer is a struggle in my experience, and everything Hazel says about pity, worrying not for her, but her family, and the continuous question, what have I done that makes me a hero is the thoughts that rolled through my head at that time. Sadness fills my heart about how good and touching this book really is. Definitely a heart warming book to put on your reading list.

Article 5 By Kristen Simmons

All of our major cities have been abandoned.

The old Bill of Rights has been terminated and replaced with the Moral Statutes.

Police officers no longer exist. Instead, there are soldiers. There are no more fines for breaking minor laws - all laws are major. If you break the law, you go through arrests, trials, and that journey always ends with death.

Ember Miller is seventeen - old enough to remember when stealing a candy bar didn't mean a public execution. She loves her mother dearly, so she can't take any risks. If you keep a low profile, the soldiers won't notice you, therefore they probably won't target you next. Most likely. So when her mother gets arrested, Ember's world is shattered. She becomes the government's property because she doesn't have a legal guardian any more. Her life is ripped away by the hinges. And to make things worse, one of the officers that came to arrest her mother is the only boy Ember has ever loved, Chase Jennings. This book is a read that will make your heart pound relentlessly fast until the end.

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

Lena Duchannes is new to the town of Gatlin, but instead of worrying about the first day of school, she's worried about concealing her dark powers from generations before. Ethan Wate is dreaming about a mysterious girl and a song that appears when it wants. While uncovering the secrets ahead they stumble upon a secret to great to contain. All I am warning of you is to not get lost. I did that a few times and needed to be helped out of the pages. It speeds up until you go blind, I'm still having trouble myself being able to read!

Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick

Alex's life pretty much sucked after getting a brain tumor. Alex didn't need any more freaking sympathy. So in a twisted way, she was almost glad when the electromagnetic pulse flashed across the horizon and caused all electronic devises to go haywire.
Originally, Alex went to the National Park to say goodbye to her dead parents and her own personal demons. But the EMP ruined that fantasy. Now she's running though the forest, avoiding people that were more effected by the Zap than her *cough* cannibals *cough*, and trying to take care of not only herself, but an annoying 9 year old girl named Ellie. It was more than tough in Alex's opinion, considering that the EMP turned certain people into something that drained the humanity out of them.
